NH Big Tree Program Introduction and Winter Tree Identification Workshop
During the workshop, we will discuss the New Hampshire Big Tree program, which celebrates the largest trees of each species in each NH county, across the state, and even nationally!
This Program will also prepare you for the Bedford Conservation Commission's “Bedford Big Trees Program” wherein residents are encouraged to explore town-owned lands to find Bedford’s Big Trees and submit nominations.
You will learn how to nominate a tree, how the trees are measured, and how to become a big tree volunteer if you are interested. During this workshop we will also spend a considerable amount of time learning to identify trees in winter, looking at bark, branching and buds. 28
