Friends of the Bedford Library present Sunday Concert & Cookies Series 2021-2022

The acclaimed Bloom/Ray Jazz Duo (Peter H. Bloom, flute; and Tim Ray, piano) will celebrate the season with Swinging Holiday Hits from the Great American Songbook,  a festive show with tunes like Sleigh Ride, Winter Wonderland, Let It Snow, Santa Baby, Chestnuts Roasting, and other favorites. 

Peter H. Bloom and Tim Ray have performed together for decades, known for stellar musicianship and entertaining concerts spanning jazz, blues, the Great American Songbook, and pan-Latin soundscapes.

Flutist Peter H. Bloom has shared the stage with Sheila Jordan, Charles Neville, Ricky Ford, Geri Allen, Jaki Byard and other jazz greats.  He is a 47-year veteran with the illustrious Aardvark Jazz Orchestra, has led his own ensembles for decades, and is a founding member of The Modernistics.  Praised for “amazing versatility” (Arts Fuse), and “hip, jazzy flute work” (AllAboutJazz), Bloom performs in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia, and appears on 48 CDs. He has given master classes and lectures across the globe, and is contributing editor for Noteworthy Sheet Music. 

Pianist Tim Ray has performed with legendary musicians spanning many genres. Tim is perhaps best known as Tony Bennett’s current pianist and music director.  Tim spent years in Lyle Lovett's touring band, and has performed or recorded with Esperanza Spalding, Gary Burton, Phil Woods, Aretha Franklin, The Boston Pops and other illustrious artists.  He has toured the Americas, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East; appears on more than 100 recordings; leads his own ensembles; and teaches at Berklee College of Music.  Tim is a grant recipient from the National Endowment for the Arts.
