Join us for a movie on the big screen.  Bring a small snack or drink if you would like.

Rescheduled from our April snow cancellation. This month's film is The Color Purple. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker and the Tony-nominated stage musical, this film tells the story of Celie, an African American woman who comes of age in the first half of the 20th century. Sold into an unhappy marriage by her abusive father, Celie draws strength from a community of women as she searches for her lost sister and children and finds love with a jazz musician.

"Of all the versions I’ve seen, the latest one is the best, a holiday spectacle bursting with spirited sisterhood." (Kyle Smith, The Wall Street Journal)
